Gold Coast Aged Care welcomes Hawthorn Village in Blackmans Bay, TAS 7052 residents are encouraged to personalise their rooms by bringing items from their previous home.

Hawthorn Village provides high quality aged care accommodation for 52 residents (including 1 respite room) in a residential setting close to transport and the beach. Hawthorn Village has its own bus, which enables us to offer outings to interesting locations for those who are interested. Resident Amenities Every resident has their own room of approximately 16 sqm as well as a private en-suite. The rooms are carpeted, painted, have window furnishings and external views. Hawthorn Village is fully air conditioned with individual room controls. All rooms have good lighting, including natural light through generous windows. Residents are able to make their room more familiar by including some of their own possessions from home, furniture, paintings, ornaments etc. Residents can have in room telephone service and television (at their own cost). The Village Facilities The facilities dining room (approximately 100 sqm) is centrally located, caters for all residents and is accessible to those who use mobility aids. In the dining room carpeted floors and floor to ceiling windows provide a relaxing atmosphere with a pleasant outlook. Separate tea making facilities are located close to all rooms and carpeted lounge/quiet rooms of at least 16 sqm are located in each area servicing 10 to 12 residents. Lounge chairs and garden outlooks create a peaceful space to relax, read a book or meet with family and friends. Hawthorn Village has a hair salon with a visiting hairdresser, a kiosk run by volunteers as well as visiting health professionals, for example: optometrist, dentist, podiatrist and audiologist.
