Kalyra Belair Aged Care is one of three aged care facilities owned and operated by James Brown Memorial Trust in the Southern metropolitan area (Belair Morphett Vale and McLaren Vale). Kalyra Belair Aged Care is surrounded by tranquil garden settings with superb views and provides a caring modern homelike environment for its 92 residents who require high quality care services and accommodation. Full occupancy is always maintained and the excellent standard of care is attributed to the select staff and the continued tireless support of the volunteers who assist in providing a wide range of group activities. Dedicated memory support units provide specifically tailored programs with the security of knowing these residents are safe within their environment. Trust supported staff education continues to be a priority and pleasingly many staff members have completed health related courses. Kalyra Belair Aged Care also provides a placement to students from TAFE Colleges training agencies and schools. Caring for the frail aged is widely recognised as an area of speciality in the health sector and all staff and volunteers are to be commended for their dedication and untiring efforts in their chosen field of gerontic care. Residents are encouraged to integrate within the community at every opportunity and this is made possible by two volunteer funded Kalyra buses and the initiatives of the Lifestyle Therapists. Care is taken to afford personal freedom and privacy to each of the residents combined with the delivery of care which is based on a holistic approach from an interdisciplinary team. Each resident of Kalyra enjoys their own private room with an en-suite bathroom.
