Prominently located overlooking Mona Vale Golf Course, Oceanview provides high quality care to residents in a popular seaside suburb. Our experienced staff offer friendly and expert care for older people in a secure, home-like environment. Residents enjoy a wide variety of recreational and leisure activities, including visiting entertainment, in-house movies and a lively music program. All residents at Oceanview receive additional companionship and interaction through the home's Pets as Therapy program. Not only do pets give unconditional love, but research suggests that pet therapy has the ability to boost health and general well being in the elderly by improving social, emotional and cognitive functioning. A physiotherapist and assistant offer general exercise programs and individual care for musculoskeletal pain and mobility issues. Residents can join in a range of individual or group exercise programs. These include relaxation, strengthening, 'stretch and breathe' and men's and women's gym classes. Falls prevention programs are also offered. We also provide palliative care for residents when necessary, in close consultation with their family and doctor. Many people feel enormous relief to know they can remain in their familiar environment and cared for by the people they know and trust as/when this is needed. Respite care is also available for short term residents or those with a view to permanent residency.
