Located on our spacious campus at Taigum, Symes Grove features leafy gardens and a variety of outdoor facilities. Symes Grove is fully-accredited for both low and high care clients with special accommodation and recreational amenities reserved for those with dementia.

About our Community

The accommodation at Symes Grove features generously sized rooms include large built-in wardrobe, chest of drawers, shelf space with the majority featuring ensuites. The property contains four different structures to ensure each resident is able to enjoy an outdoor outlook from their room. The four areas incorporate dedicated common facilities including sitting room, kitchen and dining area.

In addition, a large central community area is used for concerts, celebrations and group activities.

A range of allied health professionals regularly visit Symes Grove including a Physiotherapist, Podiatrist, Dentist, Audiologist, Speech Therapist and a Dietitian. A Hairdresser is available on site and a Music Therapist works with residents both in groups and individually.

Diversional Therapists maintain an active recreational and activities program at Symes Grove. Pre-entry discussions enable our staff to identify leisure interests so that our program can be tailored to suit resident preferences. Residents have the opportunity to participate in food focus groups as part of menu planning at Symes Grove. All meals are prepared fresh daily in our commercial kitchen and include weekly special meals to honour cultural events and ensure nutritional variety.

The ‘men's shed' is an extremely popular program at Symes Grove with both men and women using the facility to explore woodworking activities and enjoy leisure time.

Monthly meetings and residents' newsletters ensure that our clients are kept up-to-date with events and issues affecting their local community.

Weekly Anglican Church services are held with clergy from other denominations visiting as required.
