Gold Coast Aged Care welcomes St Vincent's Aged Care in Guildford, NSW 2161 residents are encouraged to personalise their rooms by bringing items from their previous home.
St Vincent's Aged Care consists of St Vincent's Hostel which opened in 1978 and St Vincent's Nursing Home which opened in 1963. The hostel consists of 20 rooms with communal bathrooms and toilets. There are four lounge areas, a communal dining room and a chapel. The nursing home has 46 beds in single, two, three and four bedroom configurations.
All hostel residential rooms have built in robes and individual reverse cycle air conditioning. There are telephone connection points in each room and the resident and/or their family can organise a connection with their chosen service provider who will charge usage costs directly. Nursing home rooms provide wardrobes, reverse cycle air conditioning and telephone connection points are available in some rooms.
Services offered
Physiotherapy and occupational therapy assessments are carried out on site and treatment is provided as required. A Podiatrist and Hairdresser also visit the facility on a regular basis with costs being borne directly by the resident. Bus trips are held each week at a very reasonable cost. The facility also has an adjoining Day Therapy Centre.
Residents are encouraged to choose their own doctor who will be asked to visit according to the needs of the resident. Residents' medications and medical items are supplied by a local pharmacy and they receive their own monthly accounts from the pharmacy.
Catholic Mass is celebrated daily in the chapel. Anglican services are held fortnightly.
Public transport
While public transport is not available directly to the St Vincent's entrance, the Guildford Railway Station is within an easy 10 minute walk.
