Overview Ross Robertson Memorial Care Centre lies 84 kms south of Adelaide near the heart of seaside Victor Harbor. Residents of the centre enjoy fresh air and views across the town to the Southern Ocean. The Centre is home to ninety-one residents in single and twin rooms including two rooms for respite residents and a twenty-one bed Memory Support Unit. All rooms have ensuite bathrooms and telephone and TV antenna sockets and an individually controlled air-conditioning unit. Features of the centre Life at Ross Robertson reflects the relaxed country setting and residents and their families have fostered a strong sense of community. The Round the Corner Café is a popular meeting place for a coffee or a light meal. Cosy lounges afford residents and their families the chance to socialise. The chapel where weekly services are held can be booked for family events. The dining rooms are attractively furnished in a homelike manner. Residents can also enjoy the landscaped gardens and courtyards. The Memory Support Unit has raised garden beds for resident use. Lifestyle program The lifestyle program at the Centre involves families and volunteers and includes individual and group activities and outings. Ross Robertson has its own bus for outings and residents go out for special meals and have been known to spot whales during the whale calving season. Local schoolchildren are active participants in the lifestyle program and carpet bowling is a particularly competitive pastime. Move it or Lose it gentle exercise classes are very popular and weekly computer lessons are held for interested residents - Skype has recently been activated for those residents who would like to speak to family and friends far away.
