May Shaw Swansea is a 50 bed modern, purpose built aged care facility surrounded by extensive gardens. All rooms have views (some with water views). Peaceful internal courtyards abound for relaxation and include a courtyard with vegetable garden for the residents use. We offer single rooms that have a private ensuite, are carpeted/vinyl floored with painted walls, are well maintained and lit, have an electric high/low bed and appropriate furniture and storage areas. Resident's rooms also include features such as large windows, electric heating controls and ceiling fans for personal temperature control. The bedrooms and bathrooms have emergency call bells monitoring by registered nurses, 24 hours a day. We do offer a small number of single rooms with a shared ensuite that are ideal for couples with a single bedroom on either side. Residents are encouraged to bring some familiar belongings from home to personalise their new home. A large well equipped and fully accredited commercial kitchen ensures our catering staff provide home cooked meals to meet the dietary requirements and tastes of all residents. Individualised & cultural specific diets are easily accommodated. Multiple lounge areas provide opportunities for residents, family and friends to socialise privately. Our residents are encouraged to maintain friendships, memberships to organisations and community groups outside the facility and to pursue individual interests and hobbies. The Internet café and kiosk provides an ideal location for residents to meet each day to form new friendships and share stories and laughs. Our hairdressing salon enables residents to manage their own needs independently from families. Our residents are able to participate in group activities and individualised programs, which are developed to cater for resident's preferences. Residents enjoy scenic drives, lunches and day outings in our own bus.
