Gold Coast Aged Care welcomes Our Lady Of Consolation Home in Rooty Hill, NSW 2766 residents are encouraged to personalise their rooms by bringing items from their previous home.

In a beautiful garden setting, our Rooty Hill campus has a range of residential aged care facilities catering to people needing either high care, low care or dementia care. We aim to provide quality, professional care in a personable and friendly style so we look for care staff who genuinely like elderly people. They are then supported by our registered nurses, leisure and lifestyle staff and allied health professionals, as well as each resident's general practitioner. We want to develop close relationships with families, who can often be partners with our care team. We like to learn about each of our residents and their life journey so we can better understand them as individuals. We have 130 High Care beds in four comfortable, independent units. Our Dementia Specific unit has 21 residents. In these high care units we are able to support those residents who may require palliative care. Our Lady of Consolation has 173 Low Care beds across three facilities. St Helens and Alverna are general-purpose facilities and Assunta is a 36-bed dementia specific, secure facility. We aim to provide quality, professional care in a personable and friendly style with staff who genuinely like elderly people. Our Lady of Consolation provides specialised residential care and support to people with dementia in our secure dementia-specific care units at our Rooty Hill campus. We have two dementia-specific facilities, both with easy access to a secure, safe garden area. We try to improve each resident's sense of well-being regardless of the health challenges they may be experiencing. 'We focus on each resident's physical comfort and freedom of movement; 'We encourage them to stay connected and engaged with people and interests; 'We focus on their emotional and spiritual wellbeing. To increase comfort and freedom of movement, our physiotherapy team offers individualised massage and treatment programs to reduce pain and increase freedom of movement. To improve general health and fitness levels, our exercise physiology team offers residents the chance to have a tailored exercise program that suits their individual needs and abilities. We offer 44 group exercise sessions each week, including Tai Chi. To help residents stay connected with people and with interests our leisure and lifestyle team offers residents a wide range of interesting and creative pursuits, including photography, creative art and gardening programs. Alternatively, residents can just relax with the help of our aromatherapy and massage facilities. Our internet facilities, and individualised training, provide residents with another way of staying connected with family and friends. We strive to provide an outstanding range of choice in meals, including the option of two different hot meals for breakfast, three choices of hot meals at lunch that cater for a more adventurous palate if desired. Our fleet of three buses provides an average of 10 bus outings each week, regularly travelling as far as Wollongong, the Blue Mountains, the northern beaches and the eastern suburbs. We offer free cable television and Wi-Fi Internet access. Our beautiful gardens provide a calming and peaceful setting within easy reach of both the M7 and M4 motorways.
